Yoga for Arthritis BY Swami Ramdev

Health News:Arthritis is the condition when at a time various disorders affect the joints and muscles of the body at a time. The arthritis symptoms are joint pain, inflammation, and swollen and tender areas near the joints. With different types of arthritis, different degenerative processes occur.

Common types of arthritis are

Osteoarthritis: This occurs in joints in hands and joints like hip, knee and other weight carrying joints. It is due to cartilage breakdown.

Rheumatoid Arthritis: This type is a long lasting disease and in this case the immune system of body affects the joints.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis: This is a rare type and mainly targets the children. The cause is not known yet but is considered to be non hereditary and a autoimmune disease.

Gout: The cause of Gout is the deposit of needle like crystals of uric acid in joints.

Some of the other types are Hand Arthritis, Hip Arthritis, Neck Arthritis, Shoulder Arthritis and Spine Arthritis.

Treatment of Arthritis by Ramdev Baba

Bhastrika Pranayam

Sit in the lotus pose, take deep breath in and breathe out the air completely. Do this for about 2 minutes to 5 minutes max. Along with providing relief from arthritis, few of the benefits of Bhastrika are curing of thyroid, tonsils etc.

KapalBhati Pranayam

Sitting in the lotus pose push air out forcefully such that the stomach will itself go in. Do it for 30 times or for about 1 min while starting. Increase to 15 minutes gradually.

This pranayam also cures deadly diseases like cancer, hepatitis N, liver functions and even is believed to cure AIDS. This also helps in weight reduction.

Anulom Vilom Pranayam

Close your right nostril with the thumb of your right hand and breathe in from left. Now close the left nostril with the middle and ring finger while opening your right nostril and breathe out through the right. Now do the reverse. This should be done for at least 10 minutes and max 1 hr. Some of the other benefits of Anulom Vilom are that it helps in reducing blood pressure, depressions, clearing heart’s blockages, arthritis, migraine pain, Asthma etc.

The pranayam should be done in the morning after we get up and clean our mouth. It is also advised that drinking one glass of water in the morning after we get up cleans the body from its toxics and constipation problems too and this is very important as a clean stomach solves most of the problems.
